Linda riding a palomino horse
Our story

A family ranch built around gentle horses

My very first ride was with my best friend who had recently moved to California from Oklahoma when we were in the 7th grade. She took me with her to ride by the Santa Ana riverbed. I will never forget that experience of feeling like I could fly. It became my dream to learn to ride with confidence and to someday own a horse. Now my husband even made my dreams of owning property come true.

My youngest was 8 when she fell in love with horses. She started riding on a pony and did her first jump and was hooked. For the next 8 years she trained to be a Hunter Jumper. We bought her a pony and a trailer and watched her grow into a confident and responsible little girl. It was amazing watching the bond they formed. I loved watching her train! My husband and I knew only enough to yell “check your diagonal!” We loved the busy weekends of loading her pony in the trailer at 5 am and going to shows everywhere. Watching her win those ribbons was so fun. When it was time for her to leave for college, she was leaving behind our horse Candy. It was time for me to step up and start my own training to keep Candy exercised.

That is where my story starts and I was now in my 40’s but more determined than ever. Some believe it is harder to be older when you start, but I disagree. It makes me more cautious and appreciative of being able to see between the ears. I have been fortunate to have so many friends that have taught me and made me a more confident rider. Trail riding is my favorite time with my horses. I love being able to share my amazing horses and my knowledge. Working with friends and family, as well as volunteering at a therapeutic riding facility has been so fulfilling. To watch the excitement when they are up on a horse is the best feeling. I love being able to share my dream.

Lessons take place in the riding arena on our own property, and riders of every age are welcome. Every lesson includes learning to tack up your horse, so you get to know the animal before you climb into the saddle.
